Simplicity Vintage Pattern 7072

For what its worth; it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. And if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over
— f. scott fitzgerald

As soon as I made this mini dress, I knew I was going to be making another one - I'm working on it right now, and it has a twist to it. Of course, I started first with this beautiful African print fabric. The inspiration from this dress came from Takkunda and this mini dress she absolutely ATE. Turns out the exact pattern she used was sold out, so I went searching and found this one here at The Gnomish Heart's etsy store (lots of good stuff there).

Here are my measurements, if you need the reference:

Size 14

Bust 34" | Waist 28" | Hips 38"

Height: 5'7"

Materials

For this project, I used:

  • 2 yards of ankara fabric

  • Simplicity Vintage Pattern 7072

  • A long zipper (preferably an invisible one if you have it)

  • Sewing pins and fabric scissors

  • Measuring tape/ruler

  • Tailor's chalk or fabric marker

  • A sewing machine and iron
