Podcasts For Starting the day mindfully

And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important.

Taking a small 10-15 minutes in the morning to be calm and grounded, before all the items on our to-do lists start calling, can mean the difference between a great day & a stress-filled one.

Whether you choose to pray and meditate, read, sit, stretch, or exercise, it is so important to start the day on a mindful note. Today I’ve got some podcasts recommendations that will help you start the day mindfully and with the right mindset.

This is even more important when you’ve got a busy day ahead. It sounds counterintuitive, but starting a day slowly, and with a mindfulness practice is the best way to make sure a fast-paced, busy day is enjoyable and productive. Otherwise, you put yourself at risk of burning out, wondering why 24hours is not enough.

You only need about 5-10 minutes to start - to pause and take the day in. That’s not a lot of time to set aside for yourself, right? You deserve to take time to embrace all that the day has for you. Sometimes, a podcast is just the boost you need.

𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁:

It’s grounding for the body, soul and spirit

  • You can merge it with other habits/tasks - walking, exercising, cooking, brushing/bathing, coffee time etc.

  • It quiets the outside noise & helps you hear YOURSELF during the day

  • It helps to put TIME into perspective. It’ll minimize that voice that makes you feel like you’re running out of time

It gives you an overall mood boost

I’ve been listening to podcasts for about four years now, and I’ve got 5 podcast recommendations that will help you gain clarity and perspective especially at the beginning of the day.

No matter the topic of this day, these podcasts remind me that I am a human 𝗕𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗚 first, and that I’m not walking alone. That we are not defined by what we do or how “well” we perform during the day, and we - each and everyone of us - deserve grace and goodness.

If that doesn’t set you up for a good start, I don’t know what will.

If I had to pick one, I’d suggest the 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐬 podcast. It’s daily and very short, but these are all my go-tos.

Find what works for you! And please drop any recommendations if you have a few podcasts you love. I’m always looking for new ones 😊

🤎,

Igho.
