A Slow Christmas At Home | 2021 Vlogmas
The guide to having a slow christmas at home is knowing:
less is more. It doesn't have to be over-the-top. You are allowed to do as little (or as much) as you want, to make your environment "Christmasy". You're not in competition with anyone, so do what you're willing and able to do
find or research what celebrations/displays/shows are happening close to you and go if you can. I find that it can be cathartic to observe beauty and joy
be a friend. This helps if you find you don't "have" a friend. It sucks - I've been there - and it helps to reach out. We could all use a friend, especially during the holidays
go on a walk. This is a cheat code of mine. I think a walk always help - or at least help you be present enough to see what you have (gratitude) and then set intentions for what you want
make a Christmas movie and music list (better yet, I'll make you one). Veg out on the couch and have a movie marathon; put on some music, sing along and dance
make your space hygge. You know; light some candles, slow things down at home, make a cup of tea, breathe and try to savor the moments
Caveat: I know this is not possible for everyone; different circumstances, work schedule, income, access to personal space etc. The opportunity to "slow down" is a huge privilege, and you deserve rest. We all do!
How are you spending your holiday? Please let me know if this was helpful!
